Huang Cheng, b.1983
China
Huang Cheng was born in 1983 in Jilin, China. He graduated from the Guangzhou Art Academy, majoring in Sculpture.
Surreal, symbolic and lifelike sculptures of animals made out of silicon gel are the works of this versatile and young sculptor. Huang pays great attention to detail, in every fold of the skin and the finest of hairs, completed with imitations of flies on his sculptures, with the subject matter undergoing traditional Chinese fire-cupping therapy. Such works connect the viewers, with ease, between artistic intentions and contemporary social problems.
Huang is currently living and working in Guangzhou, China.
